“Four in the Afternoon” is a celebration of ordinary moments that deserve to be honored, and it symbolizes the privilege of feeling true peace and safety in spaces we’ve created. I want you to feel enveloped by this painting in the same way you feel held by your home.

I worked very intentionally with color in this piece. Where the sun hits directly, the piece is flooded with yellows and oranges. The blue and purple shadows stretching across the floor (from a Monstera plant out of frame) create a dialogue between light and dark, warmth and coolness. 

Ultimately, this painting is meant to encourage a conversation within ourselves. I hope we all experience the overwhelming gratitude and joy from a moment so ordinary we almost miss it, and establish ways in which we can commit to presence in our everyday lives.
